چکیده
Abstract Star-forming, H ? -emitting clumps are found embedded in the gaseous tails of galaxies undergoing intense ram pressure stripping galaxy clusters, so-called jellyfish galaxies. These offer a unique opportunity to study star formation under extreme conditions, absence an underlying disk and within hot intracluster medium. Yet, comprehensive, high-spatial-resolution these systems is missing. We obtained UVIS/Hubble Space Telescope (HST) data observe first statistical sample disks six from GASP survey; we used combination broadband (UV I) filters narrowband filter. HST observations needed sizes, stellar masses, ages their clustering hierarchy. will be clump scaling relations universality process, verify whether irrelevant, as hinted at by results This paper presents observations, reduction strategy, some general based on preliminary analysis. The high spatial resolution UVIS gives unprecedentedly sharp view complex structure inner regions substructures disks. clear signatures very close projection galactic disk. star-forming stripped extremely bright compact did not detect significant number where MUSE any. finally development plan for project.

Uv Hst Spectroscopy of Star-forming Galaxies
to be published in the " Starburst Activity in Galaxies " proceedings by the RevMexAstronAstrofis. ABSTRACT HST spectroscopical observations of 8 HII galaxies are reported. Lyα emission was detected in 4 of them. We find that it is the velocity structure of the gas which is the main determining factor for the escape of the Lyα photons, and not the abundance of dust. The rest of the sample shows...
متن کاملHST/WFPC2 observations of hyperluminous infrared galaxies
We present HST WFPC2 I band imaging for a sample of 9 Hyperluminous Infrared Galaxies spanning a redshift range 0.45 < z < 1.34. Three of the sample have morphologies showing evidence for interactions, six are QSOs. Host galaxies in the QSOs are reliably detected out to z ∼ 0.8. The detected QSO host galaxies have an elliptical morphology with scalelengths spanning 6.5 < re(Kpc) < 88 and absolu...
متن کاملRecent star formation in nearby 3 CR radio - galaxies from UV HST observations
We analyzed HST images of 31 nearby (z . 0.1) 3CR radio-galaxies. We compared their UV and optical images to detect evidence of recent star formation. Six objects were excluded because they are highly nucleated or had very low UV count rates. After subtracting the emission from their nuclei and/or jets, 12 of the remaining 25 objects, presenting an UV/optical colors NUV r < 5.4, are potential s...
متن کاملHst Uv Observations of the Cores of M3 and M13
We present preliminary results from HST/WFPC2 observations of the central regions of the of the Galactic globular clusters M13 & M3. The clusters are almost identical in most respects including chemical composition, but there are dramatic differences in both the horizontal branch (HB) and blue straggler (BSS) populations. The M13 HB has a long blue tail extending 4.5 mag in V, reaching well bel...
متن کاملHST Observations of Young Stellar Clusters in Nearby Galaxies
The HST data archive contains images of several nearby spirals, suitable for detailed studies of the properties of individual star clusters and their surroundings. By combining structural information derived from HST images with ground-based photometry, it is possible to study cluster properties as a function of age and mass. While both the coreand effective radii of young clusters correlate wi...
